Say Goodbye

Say goodbye to cow, pinky, brownie, and bluey!

G-man is the only one of my kids who has needed a diaper at night after they were potty trained. He has been potty trained since the end of November, but he still just couldn't go overnight. We were using the biggest, most stretched out, old diapers we had so they would fit him since he is so big. These 4 were actually Lila's originally, but pinky has always been Griffin's favorite.

Last week we figured out that if we take G to the bathroom right before Ryan and I go to bed, then he doesn't need a diaper. He was thrilled because HATES wearing them now that he is such a big 2 year old ;)

This morning I pulled the diapers out to throw them away and I saw G had layed them all out so nicely.  So, farewell friends, he doesn't need you anymore.

p.s. This is my first time blogging from my phone and I am not so good at it. So forgive me if the format is weird or if I spell things wrong.

Easter 2012

This sums it up perfectly :)

Wait, maybe this one is a little better!

(Also, notice how huge G is compared to everyone else. He does not look like a 2 year old)

My big 9 year old.

Cameron was super grouchy while I was taking pictures before church, so I tried again after and he did much better.

My favorite picture of the day. Seriously, I love this kid. He has such an amazing sense of humor for a little baby. He cracks us up all the time. Can't you just see his little personality all over his face?

This would be before church. I like to call this the "Angry Einstein" picture. Please take a moment to be impressed by the hair. It looks even taller in real life.

My 3 sweet boys. Pretty darn adorable...if I do say so myself.

And the cute girls. You can really tell how big Lila is getting in this picture next to Sunny.

They are the sweetest sisters EVER!

The biggest stinker of them all...Mr. G-man. The kid is adorable and crazy. He is so funny and makes all of us laugh when he is not driving us insane.

The sun was in Lila's eyes and she wouldn't look at the camera, but Sunny looks sweet so I'll post it anyway.

Dinosaur Museum

Last Friday was Mom and Dad's last day of spring break. We decided to keep the kids home from school and spend the day at dinosaur museum. We always have such a great time there. Unfortunately, many other people had the same idea we did and it was insanely busy. So much so, that we didn't get to play in the sand or the water.

These two were accidental twins for the day in their matching purple shirts. Pretty sure Jackson has worn that shirt most every day since he got it.

They are making shark faces.

More shark faces.
Cameron was all tuckered out. He does not sleep anywhere but his crib, so this was a big deal. He must have been really exhausted to fall asleep sitting up like this.

Love this squinty eyed smile.

Again with the smile G-man.

Looking at some river dinosaurs.

Waiting in the lobby for Mimi and Bear.

9 Years Old

For your viewing pleasure...I took a picture of Jackson's spring pictures proofs from school with my phone. I LOVE school pictures. They are most always horrible and Jack has a tendency to use his "weird" smile. Also, because I never buy them, I pay no attention to when picture day actually is, so my kids usually end up wearing some crazy mismatched outfit. This year, I was pleasantly surprised with Jack's picture. I think he looks like he is getting older.

Now, on to the birthday extravaganza. It started yesterday with sausage pizza and ice cream. Today he woke up to birthday decorations, his favorite cereal, and some presents. Ryan and I got him a Jimmer Fredette shirt and a BYU backpack. He loved them. After school he got to open a present from Josh and Jess. It was an art kit and a paint by number set. He really likes them and has been sketching all afternoon.

We had a birthday dinner tonight and we sang Happy Birthday and ate cake. It was just me and the kids, since Ryan had to work, and we had a blast.

Tomorrow Mom and Dad are coming over to visit and bring more presents.

Next week when Ryan is home, we are going to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate some more.

It is the never ending birthday!

Here is the cake I made for Jack. It is my first attempt at a real cake and it turned out pretty good. I used a star shaped frosting tip and covered the cake in chocolate stars. It was a little time consuming, but well worth it. His face lit up when he saw the cake and he ran over and hugged me. He declared this the best birthday ever. (Later he said he couldn't believe I could make that. He thought it was just going to be a regular brown cake with a football drawn on it, not an actual football cake. )

For his real birthday dinner I made his favorite meal. Honey mustard chicken with rice. We also had garlic bread and steamed broccoli. It was delicious and it was too bad Ryan had to work, because he totally missed out.

Jackson is very into sports. He loves to play football, basketball, and tether ball. Lately, he has spent a lot of time outside on the back patio practicing his dribbling.

Opening his presents from J & J.

Bad picture, but the kids and I ate half of the cake ourselves. Not only was it cute, but it was delicious. Really! I don't even like cake very much and I ate it up.

A work in progress, I still had to take it out and do the sides and fill the top in a little bit when I took this picture.

What would my blog be without adorable pictures of Cam. He is now 7 months old and he thoroughly enjoyed Jack's birthday balloons.

We are so grateful to have Jackson in our family. I can so vividly remember the day of his birth and how sad and terrifying it was. I could never have dreamed how wonderful things would turn out and what an awesome (and healthy) kid he would be 9 years later. We love you Jack.

(I am planning on taking some good pictures of him on Sunday when he is dressed up nice. Stay tuned for that :)
