More Seven Peaks

We have been to Seven Peaks 3 times this summer and hopefully we will be able to go a few more times.  The last time we went, it was CRAZY busy.  We had to park way down in the lower lot and then walk across.  That would have been fine except that they were re-paving the road  and you had to walk around the fresh hot asphalt and construction workers and trucks.  Also, they who place smelled really strongly of the asphalt, which was nasty!

They also closed 2 slides and all three pools closed at one point for a few minutes.  It was not our favorite trip there, but they kids till had fun.

11 Year Old Campout

Ryan was able to go with Jack and his scout leaders on the 11 year old camp out last night.  They had a blast.  He and Chance are best buds and I am glad they both got to go.

My lilies are blooming!  That makes me happy!

Cinderella

Last night we went to see the play, "Cinderella."  It was at a beautiful outdoor theater and the weather was perfect.

Sunny shares my love of the theater.  I do believe she will be the star of the show one day.

It was so fun to spend a night with my family.  Summer is flying by way too fast and I want to enjoy every minute.

Photo Project

After we had our family pictures taken, I was left with this.  10 pictures that I wanted up on the wall.  Some of these were new sizes and I need 10 new frames.  That my friends, turns out to be really expensive.  So, I started looking at other options and found a great idea on Pinterest.

You take blank canvases and mod podge your pictures right on top and it turns them into photo canvases.  I am not a crafty person at all, but this sounded super easy so I decided to give it a try.  I headed out to the craft store and for $40 picked up all the supplies I needed to make 10 canvases.

Step 1, take black craft paint and paint the edges of the canvases.

Clearly at this point I stopped taking pictures because I was concentrating on my craftiness :)  But, after the paint dries, you brush the mod podge (which looks just like elmers glue, but dries clear) on the canvas and on the back of the picture.  You glue the picture to the canvas.  Then you go back around the edges of the picture with black paint.  Next you paint a layer of the mod podge on the top of the actual picture. 

That is the scary part.  You feel like you are ruining your beautiful picture, but have faith, it will dry clear.

All up on my wall.  I couldn't be more please with the result.

Sunny takes lots of selfies.

Jack just finished day 2 of a 4 day basketball camp at the high school.  He is loving it.  Today they played a real game and his 3 point shot helped his team win 13-10.  He was super excited about that.

Sunny makes lots of cookies.  Lots...Really...And It Is Messy.

Bear took Jack and Sunny golfing this morning.  It was cold.  Now it is 40 something degrees outside and has been raining for hours.  So much for June having nice weather.

So there you have it.  Her list of ideas for videos she wants to make.  This girl is hilarious and we are always finding awesome videos on our phones that she has done.  I should probably get her her own youtube account so she leaves mine alone.  My Sunny sure is something special.
