Bear and Lila

I needed to run to the post office yesterday, so I asked my Dad if he would come sit with the kids for a minute so i didn't have to drag them along. When he came over I handed Lila to him and she completely freaked out. She does have major stranger anxiety, but this is her Bear. It's not like she doesn't know him.

He said she cried the whole time I was gone (only about 10 minutes) and would only stop for Jax or Sunny.

By the time I got her she was doing that thing you do after you cry a lot. Kinda sounds like sniffing and hiccups at the same time. She was so sad. As soon as I held her, she calmed down and started smiling at Bear.

The only good thing is that at least she lets Ryan hold her. Sunny didn't let Ryan hold her at all, especially at church and it was difficult. We've made sure that Lila spends plenty of time with her Dad, and it has worked, she loves him to play with her and hold her. Everyone else who wants to hold Lila -- Sorry, for the most part she's gonna scream. If you're lucky and she's in a good mood you might get a few minutes, but other than that, you're out of luck.

In Jax's Words

Kindergarten is. . . Awesome

My Teacher is . . . Mrs. Chapman

My Best Friend is . . . Caleb F.

My Favorite Thing to do at School is . . . play on the playground

I'm Learning . . . The letter "O", but I already know it.

Do I want Mom to walk me home from school . . . NO!!!!!!!!!

The plan is for Jax to walk home from school this year with two boys who live next door. Admittedly, I'm a little (a lot) nervous about this. On the first day I walked him to his classroom door, and then after school I met him there. Ethan and Caden met him too and the three of them walked home with me and Sunny following a little ways behind.

The next day he told me to drop him off around the corner from school and he would just walk by himself. I said yes (only b/c I could see him the entire way, and I waited till he went into his classroom to leave.) He also said he didn't want me to pick him up at all. He was big enough to walk home with his friends, by himself! I agreed and so far so good. It has been two days and I'll have to admit it's nice to not have to get Sunny and the baby in the car, or walk over in the heat to get him. He comes running in the door at 3:45 as happy as can be. We're so lucky to have such good neighbors that are always willing to help us out and try to make things easier for us.

1st Day of School

My big kindergartner.

Silly boy.

Of course we have to post a ninja pose.

One of Sunny - who wishes it was her first day of school too. (She starts on the 8th)

Every Time

One of these days she'll start crawling forward. Until then, this is what happens every time.

Cloth Diapers

I'm in a hurry so I'll be quick, but we've decided to cloth diaper Lila. Any "old-ish" person that we mention this to is horrified, but rest assured it's totally different from any yucky diaper our parents may have used on us. These are super cute and work great. Plus we're saving money and the environment. I'll explain more about it later, and hopefully I'll convince some of you to cloth diaper your children as well.

Sunny's Birthday Party

Sunny wanted Kiersten and Miss Amy to come to her 4 year old party. We went to Chucky Cheese.

Jackson in the monster truck.

Kiersten gave Sunny a beautiful Cinderella barbie. It was just like the one she got in her package from Mok. Miss Amy told Sunny she could take it back and pick a different princess, but Sunny decided she wants to keep it and have "twin" Cinderellas. That way she and Kiersten could each have one to play with when they play together.

She had such a great birthday. Thanks Miss Amy and Kiersten for coming with us. We had a great day.

Creative

So I couldn't help but post this video. This guy has some pretty amazing art. Some think of his art as strange, but I thought it was very creative and cool. I first saw this video a few days ago in a work meeting. I really enjoyed the concepts taken from his art, in relation to the work I am trying to do. Think of it in your own way, just wanted to share.

Check out all of his stuff here.

A Picture. . .

(or in this case 3)

Is worth a thousand words!

Does It Get Any Better Than This?

Today was a great day at our house. Sunny's birthday package from Mok and Pok arrived. Her birthday is actually not until Saturday, but our tradition is to open the package the day it arrives. They were so excited and couldn't wait to tear into it.

Still anxiously waiting as I make her pose for some more pictures.

Cinderella Barbie

Ben 10 Omnitrix. How did you know Mok???? He has been dying for one of these. It is his favorite show and he was thrilled to finally have an omnitrix of of his own. (p.s. I have no idea how to spell omnitrix, so it that's not how you spell it, oh well)

Princess Sunny!

With her matching Barbie.

In their new matching blue outfits. Lila was so not into the picture taking.

Lila = Mad,
Sunny = Still cheesin' it up

On a separate note. I don't know if you can tell or not, but this is one of Lila's newest tricks. Mini push ups. She is totally off the ground except for her hands and toes. She is such a strong little girl.

Getting ready to move !!!!

Be careful, she's gonna get you. Well, not really b/c even though she looks like she can crawl, she can only go backwards. So were not in any real trouble yet. Shouldn't be too long though, and look out for Lila !!

Family

We had our family pictures taken by Jessie, and she did such a good job.. Believe it or not, these are the first real family pictures we've ever done. We had such a great time and I love how they turned out.

Sorry there are so many, but I narrowed it down as best I could. There are lots of other though, so it could have been worse :)

Jackson

Here's my disclaimer about Jackson: He has a fabulous, cute, wonderful smile. This is NOT it!!! He was doing this weird smile in every picture, and I didn't notice until we were finished. When I asked him why he was doing such a weird smile he said,

"It was just a different smile. I was tired of the old one."

I'm annoyed at him, but think he is so adorable, all at the same time. I don't care much for that smile, but that's what I love about these pictures. I want to remember my kids as they really are, including all the weird things they do. I think this will make a funny story one day.

Baby Lila -- 5 Months

Isn't she the cutest thing ever!?!?! I know I'm biased . . . but seriously, she is cute!

She'll be 5 months old tomorrow. She's rolling EVERYWHERE!!! She sits pretty well. She scoots all over the place, and she's pretty dang close to crawling.

Big blue eyes. Just like Daddy and Sunny.

We are so in love with our little Catey!
