Is This Even Possible?????

She's not even 3 1/2 months old yet and this is what she can do!! This morning the kids got out our box of baby toys (I know, it's bad, my kid is 3 months old and has never seen a toy) and we put Lila in the bobby pillow to play. I let go just to see what would happen, and she can sit. She can't balance very well at all, but her little muscles are so strong. I couldn't seem to get a good picture, but it was so amazing.

Disclaimer: Don't look at my house, it's a mess. We only clean at the end of the day, or else I'd spend my whole day following my kids around picking up after them.

She is such a strong little girl. I think it's b/c she is so small, so it's not hard to hold her body up, and I think it's b/c she loves spending time on the floor on her tummy. She is growing up way to fast. She's also starting to "army" crawl. She can only get a couple of inches, but she grabs on to her blanket or the carpet and then pushes with her feet. This is crazy. I want her to be my little newborn forever. I'm going to have to start holding her all the time so she doesn't get anymore practice.
My mom says that I did all this stuff super early too, but I don't think I really believed it was possible. My other kids sat at about 6 months and crawled at 7 and 8, so this is totally new to me.
_____________
And, while I'm bragging about how wonderful my Lila is, I figure I might as well tell you this too. She slept from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. (in her crib) woke up to eat, and then went to sleep again until 10:30. She's awesome, I know.

That Was Then...

First Bike, Christmas 2004 (20 months old) .

This is NOW!!!!

Showing off his new moves.

The Green Machine.

With his best friend, our neighbor Caden. Caden is 6 1/2 and going to be in the first grade. He is the real reason Jax learned to ride the bike. He wants to be just like Caden (and Caden's big brother who is 8 and equally adorable!) The boys spent a lot of time helping Jax and encouraging him. They are great boys, and we love living on the cul-de-sac with them.

He's actually been riding for about a month, but just this week has truly "gotten" it. He is so excited about his new big boy bike. Sunny also has her training wheels off, but is no where close to riding. She had just figured out how to do it with training wheels, but saw all the big kids and Jax w/out them, so she insisted we take them off.

Just wanted to mention, the ugly grass in that last picture is NOT our yard. It's across the street and no one is living there right now.

Fun on the Tramp

The kids have been outside almost all day today. It's totally past their bed time and this is what they are doing. I figure as long as they are outside and not bothering me they can stay up. Ryan went out and was using the hose to make it "rain" on them and they loved it.
Showing a "Super Jump"

Doing her best to keep up with brother.

They absolutely love the trampoline. Thanks Mok and Pok!

Sunny's Fat Lip

Sunny and her little cousin Leah had a head on collision Wednesday night. Apparently Leah's head comes right up to Sunny's little mouth. This is her busted lip, but that wasn't the worst of it. Her two front teeth were loose, and all under her upper lip and lower lip inside her mouth is black and purple. Poor baby. Fortunately her teeth hardened back up again, so no permanent damage done, and Sunny has enjoyed the popsicles and ice cream I've been giving her to help with the swelling.

Timpanogos Cave

Today we went to Timpanogos Cave with Mimi and Bear. The kids were awesome - all three of them. Sunny was the best hiker. She and Bear took off and left the rest of us in the dust. Jackson and Daddy were second place, and me, Lila, and Mimi held up the rear. Most everyone had a really great time (I'll explain that later) When I added the pictures they got all out of order so I'll try to explain them.
Eating at the snack shop after we were done. Lila pretty much slept the whole time except to eat a bottle at the top and bottom. She was great.

"I'm Bear's hiking girl"

Lila was awake for about 5 minutes in the cave and I thought she looked so funny.

Our Family in the big room of the cave.

"I'm Bear's cave girl now"

What a beautiful view. Happily, this was on the way down.

At the base before we started. I had no idea what I was in for.

Daddy and Jax

I hate pictures of myself, but here you go.

Sunny loved the whole experience. Who knew that such a girly-girl would be such a great hiker and climber.

...And one of Mimi.

Now, the truth of the matter is this. I didn't really want to hike the stupid cave. What happened was my Mom said I couldn't do it b/c I wasn't in good enough shape, and I was determined to prove her wrong. Let me just say this... I HATED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I seriously was miserable and I told my Mom and about every other person up there I am NEVER doing it again. I'm just not an outdoor person and the cave was not worth the stupid hike (with a baby strapped to me the entire time, I might add). I thought I was going to die on the never ending trail of switchbacks. People coming down kept telling me, "It's just around the next corner." Guess what??? They lie.

If you're going to hike the cave, let me tell you this: It is far, it is hot, and it is steep. So good luck and have fun at the cave this summer. I won't be there.

Blessing Dress

I know I've already posted about Lila's blessing, but the pictures didn't really do the dress justice. I had wanted to get pictures made earlier, but I decided to wait until Lila was smilier (is that a word), and until the dress fit her a little better. Then I realized that neither of those things were happening anytime soon, so I went ahead and got the pictures. Turns out she really liked the photograher and we got tons of pictures with smiles. As for the dress fitting, it is still big on her, but I think it looked great.
For anyone who missed it. My Mother-in-law made the dress out of my wedding dress and she did a fantastic job. I absolutely loved it. She looks like such a little princess in it.

Just a side note: I decided to do the pictures at Kiddie Kandids b/c I was already going shopping with my Mom today and thought it would be convenient. Bad idea. It took over two hours from start to finish. Seriously people!!! They obviously have no idea how hard it is to time her schedule so she'll be full, awake, not throwing up, and not grouchy. Anyway, I'm over it. These turned out good, but Jessie is my photographer from now on. I like her stuff much better, and I have a feeling she won't make me wait near that long (at least I hope not :)

3 Months Old

Time has flown by and I can't believe Lila Cate is already 3 months old. Jessie took these pictures at their BBQ during Summer fest, and I absolutely love them. They are my favorites of her by far. 3 month stats: 10 1/2 pounds(ish)
24 inches
(She's completely long and skinny. Would you expect anything else from me and Ryan?) She actually isn't gaining weight very well b/c of the reflux and the fact that she sleeps so long at night without being fed, but the doctor thinks she is doing well, so we are happy with that.
Lila is doing much better lately. She still spits up a ton b/c of her reflux, but it doesn't bother her as much b/c she is on a really high dose of medicine. She is the best sleeper by far out of my three kids. She goes to bed around seven and sleeps utill around six. Usually Ryan gets up to feed her and then she sleeps utill around ten. It is heavenly. She really loves her brother and sister and smiles lots for them, not so much for anyone else. She is an expert roller and loves to play on her tummy.
