Thanks Aunt Jess (and Uncle Joshy)

Aunt Jess took Sunny on a shopping spree at the Gap the other day. Sunny was so excited and has been wearing her new outfits since then. She looks so stylish (as does her Aunt Jess). So, thanks Jess and here are some cute pictures.

Sunny asked if she could wear this to bed. I told her yes and she said. I'm adorable you know!! I asked her who told her that and she said, "My Daddy"!

Daddy's Little Princess

First of all, I don't know why every time I start to type it is linking to a picture. If anyone knows how to fix it, feel free to let me know. Anyhow, Lila's shirt said Daddy's Little Princess or Sweetheart or something like that, and it got me to thinking about what a great dad Ryan is.

Every morning Lila wakes up at 6. She's not up to stay, just to eat and talk a little, and go back to sleep until 10. Well, I hate getting up, even though she's been asleep since 7 the night before, so Ryan does it. Seriously, every morning. I think it's pretty cool that even with three kids I don't get up before 9. He is so good about it, and Lila loves spending that time with her Daddy.

One of Lila's favorite things to do is "talk" with her Dad. She talks more to him than she does to anyone else (which makes me a little jealous :) I love to see her have that special bond with him.

Doesn't she look CRAZY in this picture. I was tickling her to get her to smile and she was going nuts. She loves to be tickled.

We started of the day at 5:10 a.m. Very early for us. Well, mostly for me and Jax and Liley. Daddy and Sunny were fine getting up early. We went down to Provo for the Freedom Festival Balloon launch. This was our 2nd year going and it is fast becoming one of our favorite traditions. We went with Ryan's family and my Mom and Dad.

After the balloons, we went to a BBQ at Mom's with Uncle Josh and Aunt Jess. We had ribs and homemade ice cream. After we went home, Ryan set off a few fireworks for the kids. Just like last year, Sunny was not impressed. Maybe next year???

Finally, we capped off the night with a little Wii with Josh and Jess. Jackson taught them how to play Mario Party 8 and several other games. He is quite the pro. We really had a great day today.

First Taste of Food

Today Lila had her first taste of cereal. For the record I am totally not into feeding 4 month olds (much less Lila, who has 10 more days until 4 months). I've done lots of research on feeding babies, and the plan was to wait until she was 6 months and then start with veggies and fruits, skipping cereal altogether. But, her reflux is just so bad and we have tried everything possible except a little rice cereal. In theory, the rice cereal will weight down the formula in her stomach and make her less likely to throw it back up. So today I decided to try it. She was awesome. She downed 2 bowls and would have eaten more if I would have let her. Then she ate her bottle and only spit up a tiny drop or two. It's too soon to know if it's coincidence or not, but I'm going to give it a couple of days. Part of me doesn't want it to work b/c I really don't like giving her cereal so young and it's a pain in the butt. But, the other part of me would do anything to help stop her reflux and make her feel better.


She took about 3 bites to warm up to it and then was opening her mouth like a little bird for more.

My sweet little baby is getting so big (as in old, not as in size, b/c we all know she is still an itty-bitty girl). It's hard to see her change and grow, but really exciting too. We just love our little Catey so much.

Gotta Love Uncle B.J.

So, my newest favorite website is Etsy. I'm sure lots of yall already know about it, but for those that don't you should check it out. Anyway, I was spending way too much time looking at baby girl stuff on there today and I came across this outfit:

It totally screamed Uncle B.J. to me (well, except the tutu part :) For those who don't know the infamous Uncle B.J. he is all things rock and roll. I thought this would be the perfect tribute to him. I knew Ryan wouldn't let me buy it, so I put in an email and a phone call . . . and Lila will be getting her rock and roll tutu soon, courtesy of Uncle B.J.

I think it will be awesome, and she'll probably wear it for Halloween too. I just have to add, that my brothers are the best Uncles in the world, and my kids love them to death. We especially can't wait for the next time we get to see B.J.

Sunday Morning

Ryan's Mom made the girls 4th of July dresses, and they wore them to church today. They were so adorable and got lots of compliments. I had about 5 minutes to take some pictures before church so I didn't get to take my time like I wanted, but I like how they turned out.

I think this is my favorite picture of all three of them that we have ever gotten. I'm pretty proud of it.

I have about 10 pictures of this pose, and Lila looks like a spazz in all of them. This is the best one. What is it with weird baby faces???

I seriously thought Lila was going to end of on the ground, but she didn't. Sunny actually had a super tight grip on her -- as evidenced by Liley's face.

This was taken by Jackson, our resident photographer. He has suddenly developed an interest in taking pictures, and I think he has a real talent for it.
