Sunny's Graduation

There wasn't enough room for grandparents at graduation, so we stopped by Mimi's afterward to show her the diploma and how cute Sunny looked.

With her Daddy. One of my favorite pictures.

Before it started.

Being a reindeer. It was covering her eyes and sliding down her face, but she kept singing.

Trying to keep the cap on her head.

Doing "the walk".

First Time In a Pool

The disclaimer for these pictures is this: She was crying while I was blowing up the pool in the house. She was crying before I ever turned on the water, and she was crying before I ever put her in the pool.

But isn't her bathing suit cute?

I guess she was just having a bad day.

I figured since she was already crying I'd just go ahead and stick her in the pool and get some pictures. It's too bad she was so grouchy. She loves the bath and I thought she would really enjoy the pool. Now she cries at the sight of it, or the sight of the hose.

At least Sunny appreciated my efforts.

What A Day!!

Today has been the day from ****! Seriously. First, Lila didn't go back to sleep when Ryan left for work like she usually does, so I had to get up earlier than normal. I am NOT a morning person! When I got her out of her crib she had a poopy diaper (hence the no sleeping I assume) and her whole room smelled like crap. Great way to wake up, especially since I still have morning sickness. That pretty much ruined any chance I had at breakfast so I went downstairs to play on the computer for a bit.

Around 10:30 I remembered Jax had to do his homework, so I go get it and he was supposed to make a Lion Diorama, due today! He had been telling me for a week he needed to make one, but I never saw the papers for it so I thought he meant in a few weeks. So, I go digging through my house for a shoe box, which we didn't have, and then load up all the kids and go to my parents to get one. Once that was done I told him to collect grass and weeds to glue into it.

At this point I notice he is a little sluggish and isn't acting quite right. So, I bascially do the whole project and by this point it is after 11:00. (We have to leave at 11:45 to get Sunny to school and then I usually drop Jax off on my way home at Manilla.) I go upstairs to get lunch ready and he says he has a sinus headache and needs a hot shower, I get him in, make lunch for the girls, get him out and he eats a few pieces of pineapple and a glass of milk.

We go downstairs and he does the rest of his homework papers and then all of a sudden says he is going to throw up. He makes it up the first flight of stairs before vomiting all over the wood floor. I'll spare you the details, but you know how it is right after they have eaten and especially right after a glass of milk!!! I go up to clean it up and Lila keeps following me up the stairs and I have to keep putting her back down and she is screaming. Luckily Jax can clean himself up and he did and then layed on the couch.

Now it is time for Sunny to go to school, so I leave him on the couch with cartoons and run over and take her to school. Lila falls asleep in the car and I get home and put her to bed. Then I layed down for a little nap. Nope, now Jax is up and wanting to eat because the headache is gone and he is all better. Then Lila wakes up after 45 mins (not usual, and again, she didn't sleep in the morning) so I am up. Next thing I know it is time to pick up Sunny and now both kids are outside playing with their friends and perfectly happy.

It doesn't sound so bad when I'm reading this back to myself, but it was, and I was having contractions the whole time and I might even admit to a few swear words. (Mostly over the fact that I had to make that stupid diorama and then he didn't even get to go to school).

Oh well, on to piano lessons, and then Ryan will be home. Good thing days like this are few and far between!

Aunty Cathy's Quilt

Finally, here are the pictures. Sorry it took so long ( Mom's fault).

This is a quilt that my Mom and her friend Sally made for my Aunt Cathy. Aunt Cathy's husband James passed away a few months ago and this quilt is made out of his clothes and also pictures and cards that were made into fabric squares. The back is green with lady bugs. It turned out so well.

James and Aunt Cathy were married just over 7 years (I think, but don't quote me on it) and he was an awesome man. I never spent much time with him since they lived across the country from us, but he made quite an impression on me. They were both such a wonderful example of what a marriage should be, and how a husband and wife should treat each other. They were so kind and patient and loving with each other--ALWAYS. They appreciated each other and always put the others needs ahead of their own. I am so grateful that they found each other and were able to have those years together. He truly was a good man and I am happy that he was able to be a part of our family. He is greatly missed and will always be remembered.

Hopefully the quilt brings a little peace and comfort to you Aunt Cathy. We love you so very much!

One Picture for Earth Day

I hope this counts as doing my part for the earth.

I started hanging my clothes out to dry last year and I love it. I have been waiting for this weather and it feels like it took forever to get here. My goal is not to use my dryer at all. (Well, for the kids stuff and my stuff). Ryan does his own laundry so we'll see how he does. My only problem is I need a bigger line. I think I'm going to use this one for diapers b/c it hangs pretty low, and then string up a new one for clothes.

It is a little more work, but I actually enjoy it. It gives me a reason to get off the computer and get outside. I also love the smell of clothes dried on the line.

Beautiful Weather

This week has been gorgeous. My kids (and me) are in Heaven! Ryan hasn't had time to get to the backyard and get rid of all the dandelions, but I'm in no hurry. My kids love them and pick them for me everyday! I think they are beautiful.

Springtime has opened up a whole new world for Catey. She loves being outside.

Running around the backyard.

Here's a plug for The Gap. Mok bought this outfit for Sunny when we visited them in Alabama when Sunny was 10 months old. Sunny wore it until she was 3 (my kids have tiny little waists, what can I say). I packed it away and now Lila is wearing it. Hat, shirt, shoes, and sandals! I remember at the time thinking it was so expensive, but I wanted it so bad b/c it was so adorable. I think we definitely got our money's worth with it. It still looks brand new and just as cute as when Sunny wore it!

Sunny made this "home" for rollie-pollies (or potato bugs as Ryan calls them). So far there are 3 that live in there and she takes very good care of them.

Thanks to Lauren for teaching her how to hold them. She used to be petrified, but now she is a pro!

First time on the trampoline.

It was a hit. She loves it. It's nice b/c I can zip up the net and cage her in while I hang up all the laundry,

Chalk is also a new favorite.

She learned quick it doesn't taste very good.

The Good-bye

Sunny was heartbroken that B.J. had to leave. She hung on tight around his neck until I peeled her off. She cried for a solid hour. Jackson appeared to be okay at first. Then he turned to me and said, "I think I might feel like crying". When we put them to bed Sunny prayed that they wouldn't be so sad anymore and they both laid down. I went and got in the bath and I could hear them both just laying in bed sobbing. We ended up sleeping downstairs on the floor and watching Nemo to take their minds off of it.

Right after this Sunny turned to me and said "I hate Florida, B.J. needs to stay here with me."

We are so happy Uncle B.J. was able to come visit. He is so much fun and they kids love him so much. I'll admit I cried as much as they did when he left. He is so nice to have around. We wish he could come more often!
