The 4th of July

I had the kids all dressed up and thought I'd get some pictures on my new front porch. Just like last Easter, Lila wouldn't cooperate. This first picture of her and Ryan is actually the last one I took. She wouldn't sit or smile, and as soon as we let her up she started smiling. I swear she does it just to aggravate me.

What would my posts be without all the outtakes. The older kids tried so hard and Lila was so bad it was laughable.

The best one!

We're Here

We are all moved into our new house and loving it. Tons of work the last few days, but well worth it. We don't have our Internet set up yet so we are stealing somebody's wireless (which isn't working very well), so we haven't been able to use the computer much. As soon as we get it set up I'll post some pictures of the new place. The kids are doing well, Jax has taken the move the hardest, but is already making new friends. His favorite is our new next door neighbor who is also six. I miss our old neighborhood and friends, but this seems like a very friendly street. We've been able to meet several of our new neighbors and they seem great. Hopefully it won't be too long before we are on the computer again, I miss it (and t.v. which won't be hooked up until Tuesday!!!)

Excessive

This picture is from last week, but I needed to put a picture with this story, so this one will have to work. Today at church Jax was super cranky and tired. Ryan said it was because Jax got up at 5:00 (which he is allowed to do if he goes quietly downstairs and plays legos or wii.)

Lila and I are sick, so we decided that Ryan, me, Jax, and Lila would go home after our first meeting. We get home and Jax is playing some more wii and I looked at where it tells you how much time you have played that day. It said 6 hours and 21 minutes. You do the math! If he woke up at 5 and we left for church at 10 till 9 that would only give him 3 1/2 hours if he played non-stop during that time.

I asked him again what time he got up and he looked a little sheepish and said, "Well, I thought the microwave said 5, but it might have been a 2 (they do look similar on the microwave)." I asked if it was still dark and he said, "Yeah, kinda."

So, mystery solved. He was so tired b/c he got up at 2:00 a.m., and played wii all night and morning and ended up with the 6 hours and 21 minutes of playtime. You would think he would have fallen asleep when I tried to make him take a nap. He didn't, and now he is at the park with Kadin at a family party. He cracks me up!

We Did It!

We actually survived and closed on the house today. I can't believe it actually happened. We are moving in on Tuesday and we can't wait!

p.s. Thanks for the rude comment Uncle Juji :)

House Buying Stuff

I swear if I don't go crazy by the end of this process I'll be lucky. We were supposed to close yesterday, but couldn't b/c we were waiting on one signature, but the date has really been up in the air since the end of last week. Since we weren't sure on dates, we haven't been able to schedule anything as far as moving, and weren't sure how to proceed as far as packing. Yesterday they were telling us probably next Tuesday for closing, but for sure by next Thursday. Well, surprise surprise, we just got a call they want us to close in three hours up in Salt Lake. We are happy, but so stressed. Ryan is down at work with a car that isn't working, I have all the kids and we aren't finished packing. In short, we weren't planning on today (although my Mom called it!). I think we'll just move in slowly with little stuff over the weekend, and then do the whole moving truck thing on Monday. I don't know, this is such a pain in the butt!

Can you tell I'm scatterbrained and crazy today???

Mechanic in the Making

Our old white car has been sitting in our driveway since about March. It needed a new battery, spark plugs, and alternator, and has been dead the whole time. We haven't worried about it b/c Ryan has been driving the scooter, but with our move being only a few days away we needed to get it fixed.

Ryan is becoming quite handy at car maintenance these days.

Battery = check (that one is actually super easy and he has been doing our batteries for years).

Spark Plugs = check
Alternator = a work in progress (although he has done one before, just not on this car)

Lila was quite fascinated by the whole process. She loved digging in his tool box and handing him different wrenches and other various things. She made quite the mess of it all.

Sweet Girls

Mok and Aunt Cathy came to visit this past week. Mom has all the pictures with them, so I'll post them when I get the chance. Needless to say, we had a great week and the kids were in Heaven. Sunny got this beautiful new princess outfit and she loves it.

Lila got a new baby doll and I don't think she has put it down during the last three days. It goes in the car with us, to swimming lessons with us, and to bed with her. She loves babies (which I'm hoping is a good thing)
