Ballerina

Sunny had her first Ballet class today. She is on the right.

Getting ready to head to class. She has been looking forward to this day for a month or so and she was so excited it was finally here.

Demonstrating all the ballet positions.

I just love this one.

Check out that bun. I did that!!!! Be impressed people.

She did great at her class and then came home and danced to the Nutcracker until dinner time. She said her favorite part of the day was when she found out her recital will be at the Covey Center. That is where she went to see the Nutcracker and she can't wait to dance on the stage there. She is also super excited that the theme for the recital is The Wizard of Oz.

5 Months Old

Little John-John turned 5 months old yesterday.

He loves eating. He eats: avocado, peas, green beans, bananas, applesauce, sweet potato, squash, and steel cut oats.

He rolls both ways (though not very often)
He sits
He smiles
He laughs
He squeals

He does not sleep very well anymore. He was always such a great sleeper, but about a month ago that changed. Now he wakes up twice a night every night and sometimes he'll wake up a 3rd time. Pretty annoying. The good thing is that when he wakes up he eats a quick 2 ounce bottle and goes right back to sleep. And, he goes to bed at 6 and doesn't get up for the morning until around 8:30, so I probably shouldn't complain. I will be glad when he drops those night feedings and sleeps through the night again though.

I sure do love this baby boy!

Pantry Project

Last week a friend of mine blogged about cleaning out/organizing/painting her pantry. I fell in love with the idea and...I copied it. I know, it's lame, but I love it. Thanks for the inspiration Brandi.

Here are the before pictures. I may have a slight obsession with my pantry. It is usually pretty darn organized, but it needed some sprucing up. I needed a small project, and this fit the bill.

The after pictures. I repainted the shelves white (they were super dingy) and I painted the walls an olive green color. I love how it turned out. It makes me happy every time I open the doors. My next goal is to get all matching glass containers and label them.

Pretty cute, don't you think?

Reading

Griffin and Cameron love to spend time together. As evidenced by the pictures, Cameron was having a pretty moody day :)

School News

Last Thursday was the kids 1ooth day of school. The second graders got to dress up like 100 year old people. Basically, they were grandma and grandpa for the day. Sunny and I went to DI and she picked out this lovely dress and purse. We also tried to fine a cane and white hair spray, neither of which were available. She loved her outfit anyway, especially the bun in her hair.

(I'm pretty sure she looks exactly like Mimi)

In other school news, I had the kid's SEP's last week. (Parent/teacher conferences for those not from Utah) I really love going to these. I always tell my kids that I love how smart they both are, but what I care more about is their behavior and how they treat others. Well, I haven't been disappointed yet. Both teacher talked about how smart/brilliant/above grade level/blah blah blah they kids are. That is clearly not news to me as I know they are smart kids. Both teachers also talked about how kind/thoughtful/helpful/loving/insert several more positive adjectives here they both were.

My favorite thing that was said (by both teachers) was that Jackson and Sunny are such wonderful examples in the classroom. I am so proud of them. They really are awesome kids.

Repetition

Yesterday I got Cameron dressed and set him down to play. Then I grabbed the camera because I wanted to take a picture of his outfit. I love this outfit. It was given to Jackson in November of 2003 by Aunt Cathy (do I have an awesome memory or what) and is now being worn by the 3rd little Blair boy.

Then as I started taking pictures I realized that I was taking almost the exact same pictures that I blogged about the other day. Basically, I know that my blog is totally repetitious, but my blog is all about my babies and as any mother knows, babies pretty much do the same thing every day.

The best part is, even though I see and do the same things every day, I love it. I never get tired of taking the same pictures, playing the same games, and spending time with my kids.
(Not to say we don't have bad days, because we definitely do. The good days far outweigh the bad though)

So, this scene with Cameron playing toys repeats itself probably 5-6 times a day. It always starts out with him playing happily.

And then this sometimes happens.

(Video of what this sounds like at the bottom. I couldn't get it to go right here where I want it)

And then I pick him up, but he is super mad and will not be comforted.

Finally I realize he doesn't want to be held, but wants to be sat back up with his toy again.

All is well that ends well.

(Video of this part at the very end)

He didn't even hit his head very hard, but he was super mad. I got a little nervous when I noticed he was screaming so hard that he was turning blue around the lips.

Happy as can be after I helped him sit back up. This boy knows what he wants.

My Little Boys

Cameron has just recently started taking an interest in toys. And by interest, I mean he loves them and cries if you take them away (I'll show you that in a minute)

He is also getting to be an awesome sitter. At about 4 1/2 months old, he can sit for 20-30 minutes at a time without being propped up. (Though he still does his fair share of tipping over and face planting on the carpet.)

He loves that he can sit up all by himself and he loves this piano.

(I personally love the string of drool coming from his mouth. Notice how soaked his shirt is? I changed him about 5 minutes before I took these pictures. This kid is a drool monster.)

Griffin is so sweet to his brother. I love that fact that I have my two little guys so close in age. These were all taken last week, but just for reference, Griffin is almost 2 1/2 years old and Cameron was about 4 1/2 months old here.

It's nice to have a big brother to show you the ropes and teach you all the things you need to know.

Cameron got this toy for Christmas, but Griffin has claimed it as his own. They both loved it and spent about 20 minutes like this.

This is what happens when you take the toys away.

I just love his sad/mad face. It is too funny.
