Random Picture Time

I absolutely love these two munchkins.  Lila tells me all the time that they should have been twins, and I think she could be right. They wear the same size shoe, and he is catching up to her in height.  He is really excited about that!
They have so much fun together and he really misses her when she is gone at school.

Griffin went to a super fun birthday party for his friend Ben.  He came home all decked out in super hero gear and couldn't stop talking about all the fun things they did.

Cam got lots of new shirts from Josh and Jess and Henry and GEORGE!  He loves them and we had a little photo shoot for him to show off.

He also got a new pair of shoes for his birthday!

Bad blurry pictures, but I love his expression!  What a stinker.

Fathers and Sons Campout

Ryan took the two older boys on a fathers and sons campout last weekend.  They had a blast.  It rained a lot and there was a huge tarantula there.  That's about all I got out of them.

Meanwhile, the girls (and Cameron) and I, went out and had dinner with friends and enjoyed a nice relaxing night.

I can't wait until next year when Cameron gets to go too!

First day of preschool for G

Well, I just sent my #4 off for his first day of preschool.  Isn't that so strange?  I can't believe my little G is really this old.

He has been waiting so long to have his own bag and to walk to school just like Lila did.

He was in a posing mood before school!

He said, "Take a picture of my hair. It is really awesome!"  He was right, it is totally awesome and I spent just as much time on his hair as I did on Lila's.  He likes it a certain way and it takes a lot of products to get it to stay out of his eyes. (Although I guarantee it will be in his eyes when I pick him up.  He doesn't care, he says he doesn't want to cut it)

I love this one!

With Miss Melody.  She is so great, and I know Griffin is going to have a great year!

Cameron is 2

Happy Birthday to my baby.  You are 2!

Cam has had a wonderful birthday and I some more pictures to post later.  These will have to do for now.  I got him dressed and ready for a photo shoot, and these cheesy smiles were all I could get out of him.  I'll take them though, I think they are pretty cute.

Cam is now officially a big boy and our house is completely empty of baby things.  I thought it might be a little bittersweet, but it is just really, really, SWEET!  We are loving all the freedom we have and all the fun things we get to do without a baby in tow.

All about Cam:

loves fruit and steals it out of the fridge all the time
loves to make his own pb&j sandwiches
sleeps all night from 6 to 6:30
loves to have his hair done with gel and prefers a mohawk to any other style
constantly goes down into the basement and switches off the water heater, super annoying
is completely potty trained and has been for a month, it is more wonderful than
I even imagined and I am so proud of him
loves his big brothers and sisters and definitely uses them to get his way
spends most everyday just trying to keep up with the big kids
is obsessed with his blankie, trucks, his teddy bear, and book
loves the "Cups" song

Hogle Zoo 2013

Today was the long awaited zoo day with Mimi and Bear.  The kids were so excited!

Cam was a big shot...as usual, and insisted on walking alone.  No hand holding for this 2 year old.

These two were more than happy to hold hands with Bear!

I almost had a good picture with all of the kids looking and then Lila reached out to swat a bee and ruined my shot.

The zoo has some really cool lego exhibits.  Here is Jack with the lego penguins.

Real polar bear.

Lego polar bear.

Cam having a little breakdown.  He was trying to mess with a water fountain and I sent Jack to bring him back over to us.  Cam started screeching and wouldn't let Jack pick him up, so he was sent to the stroller for a few minutes.  He was so sad.

Those last 4  are the kids sticking their faces into a lego monkey thing.  Jackson was too busy taking pictures with Bear's camera to pose for me.

The bird show.  It was great.

And the highlight of Griffin's day...huge ice cream cones.

4th Grade Egg Drop

Sunny participated in the 4th grade egg drop today.  I managed to snap a picture as she was heading to school this morning.  We used spray foam stuff, sprayed it, let it dry, cut it in half, and hollowed out a spot for the egg.  We did the same thing for Jack last year, so we were pretty sure it would work.

Sunny was mostly interested in making sure it looked good, so then we had to fancy it up a bit.
We spray painted it aqua and added turquoise polka dots.  She was pretty happy with it.

All the kids were sitting outside when we got there.  Cam loved getting a front row seat in Sunny's lap.  That is her best friend Rakel next to her with the cute hair.

Mr. Padeken (Jack's old teacher) and Sunny's current teacher, Ms. Bjornestad  were up on the roof of the school dropping all the different containers the kids created to keep their eggs safe.

What we learned:  Balloons do nothing to slow down the containers.  Parachutes work...sometimes. Nerf footballs work well, Soda bottles or water bottles do not work.

G was there!  He is getting ready to support Alabama in their first game of the year this weekend.

After the drop, we followed the students back to the classroom where they opened up their containers and checked to see if their egg survived the fall.

Her egg survived!

(There were only about 5 in her class that broke, and luckily the kids took it pretty well.

As I was walking around the class checking out how many broken eggs there were, I came across this gem!  This is Sawyer's idea.  A diaper filled with mini water balloons.  I thought it was great.  His egg survived!
