Shrek Jr

These will be all out of order and there are a million of them, but I want to get them posted.  So here we go.

Sunny was in Shrek Jr back at the end of March.  It was a huge production and they did the show 5 times.  It was amazing.  We ordered a dvd and I can't wait until it gets here.

On the final night of the show, just Lila and I went and we tried to get as many pictures as possible with all the characters she liked.

Ellie was Mama Ogre and the Wicked Witch.  I was in charge (along with one other lady) of all the people who needed to be green.  So, Mama and Papa Ogre, little shrek, and big Shrek.  We had to completely paint them green.  Face, neck, inside the ears, eyes, hands, arms.  It was crazy.  Then we had to put stage makeup on top of the green, glue on fake noses, and glue on ears for shrek.  It was a lot of work and took about 2 hours before each performance.  My hands were stained green for a week afterwards.

With her cast gift.  A balloon with a shek headband.

Back stage

With Carter who was little shrek and grumpy the dwarf.  Painting a 1st grader green was pretty fun, he was not thrilled.  His least favorite thing though was eye liner, but we got pretty good at it over the week.  After we spent all that time on his makeup, we had to turn around and wash it off and turn him into grumpy after the first scene.

Backstage

With Jack's best friend Chance who lives across the street.  Isn't he an awesome looking big bad wolf???

With Brooklyn, who was a fabulous Fiona and just a really sweet girl.  I just loved working with her and she was so kind to Lila.

More cast party pics.  You can really see how tiny Sunny is in this picture.  She is taller than she used to be, but she is still pretty shrimpy :)

Sunny is third from the right in the red hat.  Right next to the kid with the white wig.

More from the cast dance party

Sunny is in the bottom left corner.

Lila with Ellie and a photo bomb from Chance.  I just loved Ellie.  We had a blast doing her makeup everyday.  She was a super cool kid.

Sunny is on the right hand side with the red cape.

For the first performance we used this flexible head mask thing on shrek.  It kept peeling off though so we ended up shaving this kid's head and just painting it green.  It looked much better I thought.

This was a fabulous experience for Sunny.  When we got in the car after the final show she instantly started crying because she said she loved it so much and she didn't want it to be over.  She was really amazing.  She looked great on stage, was clearly one of the best dancers, and just really was great.  We are so proud of her.

More Random Feb and Mar

Sunny had a choir concert at the high school.  She and Rakel are still best buddies.

Our friend Makayla had a huge 11th birthday Dance party and these two were invited.  They said it was super fun and Jack loved dancing.  Which I'm sure was hilarious.

We went to Manilla Elementary to play a couple weeks ago.  We have really enjoyed the nice weather lately.  February was a gorgeous month this year!

Jack and Dad fished while we playing and Jack caught 3 trout.

Aquarium

Ryan and I took the little boys on a quick aquarium trip before preschool a couple of weeks ago.  It was the least busy I have ever seen it and they really enjoyed it.

Random Feb and March

Jackson and Lila look the most alike of any of my kids.  Although they still don't look THAT much alike to me.  But, they both make the grouchy face when they are mad and it is exactly the same.  Here they are recreating it for me.

And Molly is spoiled...bad.  We absolutely love that stupid cat.  Getting her is one of the best things we have ever done.

Cameron loves to scratch under her neck and Molly is more than happy to sprawl out and relax while he does it.  I was worried that since he was only 3 he might be a little rough with her, or not understand how to treat her.  That has not been a problem.

As you can see he is wonderful with Molly.  He calls her his, "Molly-Catty" and he is very protective of her.  She completely trusts him.

Random Boy Stuff

Cam got a new shirt.  He was feeling fancy.  He decided to model for me while I was cleaning out his room and switching winter clothes for spring one...Yay!

Playing up on the top bunk.  These two are the best of friends and that makes my heart happy.

Proof that they love each other.

I took Jack to the middle school to get him registered for next year.  He really liked it and is excited to be in 7th grade next year.  I had to beg and beg for a quick picture while no one was looking.  This was him humoring me.

And this was him being annoyed that I asked for one more picture.

I sure do love Jack and his almost teenage boy attitude.  He is a super funny kid and I love how now that he is getting older we have really great conversations.  The best is when Ryan and I don't know something and will be talking about it and what we need to do or figure out, Jack will be downstairs and have overheard our conversation and will yell up, "Seriously you two, the answer is  (fill in the blank)...don't you know that."  He is just that smart!

Her birthday card and crown from Mok and Pok

When you have a birthday in Lila's class at school, each child write you a notes and the teacher has them bound into a book.  This was my favorite letter she got.  It is from Dillon (who she says is bad and she doesn't like)

Dear Lila,

You are pretty and beautiful and you are kind.  What's your favorite food?  Whats your favorite movie?  You are a good ???.  What's your favorite letter in the alphabet?

Then there was the part that cut off that said, "Will you be my friend and play with me at recess."

Seriously, I die over these notes.  They are so funny!

Basketball 2015

Jackson had an amazing basketball season this year.  His team was 4-4, which was not awesome, but he was the leading scorer on his team, by quite a bit. He had several 20 point games and his lowest scoring game was 8 points.

He really improved so much from last year.  He thinks that getting contact lenses made all the difference.  He was able to see well and not worry about glasses flying off of his face.

Jack was one of the smaller kids in the league, and he was our point guard.
He really became the leader of the team on the court.  He could often be heard directing players and setting up plays.  It was so fun to watch him develop that ability this year.

All of these boys live within a mile of us and they are great kids.  We joke that Jack and his best friend Chance (#5) are going to play in the NBA one day and be like Stockton and Malone!

My favorite game of the year was one that we won 32-30. We only had 5 players there that day so they all had to play the entire game, while the other team had 9 players.  Our boys played so hard.  Jackson scored 20 of our points and assisted in several others.  The weight of the game really rested on him in that last quarter and he was so amazing.  He shot from the outside, he laid the ball up and he made some excellent passes.
