Meeting Cameron

Again, these are all out of order, but at least they are blogged. Saturday night after Ryan had gone home with the kids, Mom came over to visit me and meet little Cam.

Griffin was like a ping-pong ball in the hospital. I think the kids only stayed for 15 minutes of so, but I was ready to kick G-man to the curb after about 5 minutes. He was super sweet with the baby, but he climbed/jumped/ran all over every inch of my room.

Lila was so gentle. She waited patiently until it was her turn and then she just snuggled him up!

And of course, Miss Sunny was in Heaven. This was the day she has waited so long for. She is such a natural with babies. She scooped him up and he has been in love with her ever since.

Jack was the first to hold Cam. Back in April when we were going to find out if he was a boy or a girl, he made a deal with Sunny. If we had a boy, then Jack got to hold him first, if we had a girl, then Sunny did. Obviously Jackson was the winner. He is so excited to have another little brother.

These are all the pictures I got before my camera died. I still actually haven't gotten a picture of all 5 kids together. I need to get on that I guess.

Also, while I love these pictures, they really show how bruised Cam's face was. The doctors and nurses said he was one of the most bruised babies they had seen. The whole side of his face and ear was black and then of course, all around his mouth. It was caused by his fast birth and was no big deal, but it sure looked bad.

2 Week Check-Up

(This picture is him at 5 days old. He looks googly...I know. Definitely not the most photogenic child I have, but look how cute his onesie is. I made it myself...with a lot of help from Jess :)

Today I took Cameron in for his 2 week appointment. He was a doll as usual and only cried a bit when they had to poke his heel. He is doing great and very healthy.

Weight: 8 lbs even -- 30th%
Height: 20.5 inches -- 45th%
Head: 14 inches -- 22nd%

I am amazed at how fast he is growing...especially for a baby born 3 weeks early. I wish I could slow him down for awhile. He is the best little guy EVER!

Personal Space

Apparently Cameron has none! While the big kids are at school the little kids spend their day playing with their new brother. He is so kind to tolerate all their affection.

I love this one. Griffin is doing so well with Cameron. Much better than I expected. He is so proud and I can tell he really feels like he is a big boy.

Lila is such a sweetie. She would hold him all day if I let her. I'm so glad that my little kids are enjoying their brother as much as I am. So far I don't see any jealously towards him at all. They are just thrilled that he is here.

First Bath

So, I have about 100 pictures (really) of the last week and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed about the idea of trying to blog them all. I want to, and eventually I will, but for now I think I'm going to just try to do the easier stuff, even if it is a little out of order. With that in mind, here are pictures of Cam's first bath.

Obviously he was not a fan. He is such a good baby and doesn't cry at all. This was the first time we have gotten to hear what his cry sounds like. I don't think the bath was the problem. I think it was the fact that he was hungry and wanted to eat before the bath instead of after.

He's Here

Just a few pictures to tide you over until I blog the whole story.

First, Cameron getting ready to come home. Ryan brought just Sunny with him to the hospital to help me dress Cam and get him ready to go. He was not thrilled with the car seat, but he calmed down pretty quickly.

Best big sister ever.
She is so thrilled and is such a sweet helper.

Brand new baby.

Right after he was born. Still in the labor and delivery room. I look pretty good (if I do say so myself.)

Home at last and happy in his swing.

36 Weeks

Almost done :)

Here is baby Cameron at 36 weeks. Some days I am feeling huge and other days I feel really tiny, mostly I just feel ready to be done.

This is Lila at 36 weeks. Just a few days before she was born.

(Please ignore Sunny's horrible face)

This one is Griffin at 35 weeks.

Okay, so looking at those, I think I am bigger this time, but I'm not sure why. I feel like Cameron is going to be smaller than both of them were, but we'll see. I am actually feeling semi-okay some of the time (that's my positive spin on, "I feel horrible 90% of the time"). I think once I hit 36 weeks, a huge mental weight is lifted off my shoulder because I know he'll be okay if he is born.

I am still having tons of contractions. Pretty much around the clock. They are mostly braxton hicks, with some real ones mixed in randomly. Hopefully I'll last at least one more week, but then I'm ready. I'm hoping for next weekend!

For Hayden and Piper

Griffin and Lila were working on some pictures for you.

Lila was super excited and didn't want to wait to mail it to you.

So, here is the finished picture. She hopes you like it :)
