Nap Time

Cameron still sleeps swaddled (well, actually he sleeps in a Woombie, and if you don't know what that is, you really should google it.)
I am wanting to start getting him to sleep without it and it has proved to be quite the challenge. This was his first nap unswaddled. He fell asleep really well, but he only slept for 45 minutes like this. Not long enough for me.

I was taking pictures because I loved that he fell asleep holding on to his blankie and with his legs bent all the way up. The pictures don't really show it, but he was bent all the way in half and was holding on to his toes with his hands. Super cute.

Sleeping babies are the best.

And a couple of cute Henry, who happened to be napping at the same time.
Is he adorable or what?

4 Year Old Stats

I took Lila for her check-up today. My kids always love going to see Dr. Wilcox, and this time was no different. He got to hear all about her new bike and her party and her cupcakes...lucky guy!

Here are her 4 year old stats:

Height: 41.25 inches -- 81st%
Weight: 38 pounds -- 75th%
BMI: 15.8 - 66th%

Can you even believe how big my little tiny Lila Cate has gotten? Do you even remember how scrawny she was? She was freakishly small! She was born a normal weight, but quickly dropped to the very bottom of the growth charts. For most of her first 2 years she hung out around the 3rd percentile on the chart.

Once we figured out she had a milk protein allergy/lactose intolerance, we were able to help her gain a little, but it was only when she finally outgrew them, that her growth took off. Apparently she hasn't stopped since.

She is such a big, healthy girl. I love it!

(Sunny was only 31 lbs and 40 inches at 4 years old. I imagine she is right about 40 pounds now. No wonder she and Lila are able to share clothes.
And, just because it is funny. Griffin was 32 pounds at 2 years old. It's not that L and G are that big, it's that Sunny really is that small. She is totally a throwback to her great-grandmother Mok, and her great-great-grandmother, Grammy. They are both itty-bitty.)

The 4 Year Old

I took a few picture of Lila at the park by our house. Nothing fancy, just some quick shots, but for some reason, they turned out great. LOVE it when that happens.

I love this picture. It screams Lila Cate to me. She is such a free spirit.

We have a had such a great few days celebrating the birthday girl. Lila is such a sweet spirit and brings so much joy to our home. She has a wonderful sense of humor and keeps us laughing all the time. She is very mature, I think from keeping up with her big sister all of the time.

What a blessing she is to our family. I sure do love my little blonde haired, blue-eyed girl!

The Bike

Thanks so much for the new bike Mok and Pok. It was a hit. She hopped on and started riding right away, and was so proud of herself. Today she rode all the way to the park and back and she is ready to do it again tomorrow.

I love watching a kid ride a bike for the first time. I can feel the sense of freedom and exhilaration they feel. It is such a fun milestone.

The Party

Officially 4 years old!
Getting ready to blow out her candles.

Her favorite present this year... a new bike! She was thrilled.

We left Cameron on the floor in the middle of the pile of toys and new presents while we cleaned up. Pretty sure he enjoyed himself.

New Barbie from Aunt Jess, Uncle Joshy, and cousin Henry Benny.

One of her two packs of Squinkes.

Her hopping bunny.

Sneak Peek

We are having a little family party for Lila tonight before her real 4th birthday tomorrow. Here is a little sneak peek for you.

(She had her first party at Nana Blair's on Sunday and it was a blast. She got such cute gifts from Nana and she loved the chocolate cake and ice cream)

Someone has a birthday coming up tomorrow. Whatever could be in that pretty bag? No way is it that little white bunny that hops around and makes eating noises :)

The birthday girl herself.

She loves her cupcakes. They have pink strawberry frosting and silver sparkles.

I thought about cleaning her up, fixing her hair, and putting some clean clothes on her. Instead, I dragged her in from the backyard and then let her go play some more. Even if I would have fixed her hair you wouldn't be able to tell. I have yet to tame her curly/frizzy/weird hair.

Ryan and I don't usually do very much for birthdays. Sometimes we don't even do a cake...gasp! I know, that's bad. So, this year will now and forever be known as, "The Year of The Birthday Parties."

My first attempt at cute cupcakes. I borrowed this adorable cupcake tier thing from my neighbor (don't you love it). and tried my hand at some fancyish decorating. It was semi-successful. I say semi because I bought whipped frosting, which is too soft to hold its shape. I tried to thicken it, but it didn't seem to help much. Also, I don't have a frosting tip, so I just used a Ziploc with the corner cut off and I don't think it looks very nice.

I say successful, because the birthday girl is in LOVE with these cupcakes. She is so proud of them and can't wait to show everyone. As long as she is happy, I'm am happy.

We have glitter stars, a princess table cloth, streamers, a banner, and balloons. All a little girl could ask for.

I think it turned out pretty cute. Now if the rest of this day could fly by. My poor little kids are going nuts with anticipation. The are ready to party.

(And the best secret of all...she is getting a new big girl bike from Mok and Pok. She is going to be thrilled. I can't wait to see her sweet little face.)

Little Boys

These are from last week. I don't think Cameron appreciated it very much, but Henry didn't seem to mind.

Oh the fun these boys are going to have!
