Sunny's Vacation

My blogging is seriously out of order, but it is too much of a pain in the butt to fix, so we will just deal with it.        I mentioned that the kids an I went on a quick trip to St. George a couple weeks ago.  I have tons of pictures of that and it was amazing.  So, after our 2 days in St. George, I took the other 4 kids and we continued our fun in Cedar City with Josh and Jess.  Sunny got to stay with the Pitcher family for another 2 days.

Don't Sunny and Makayla look so cute in their matching shirts!!!

(I have a pictures back on my blog from 4 years ago when we had just moved here.  It is Sunny and Makayla playing dress up on one of their first playdates and I commented on how they seemed to be fast friends.  4 years later and they are definitely good friends.  These two are so adorable and I'm so glad they got to spend vacation together)

The went to see "Mulan" at Tuacahn, which she ways was amazing.

The went to the new Monsters Inc movie.

They went on another hike in Zions.  I think it was around 117 degrees that day.  Yikes.

And they swam!

Sunny had so much fun that she didn't even want to call me the whole time she was gone.  It was nice of Ashley to send pics for me though and I was perfectly fine with my baby girl being gone because I knew she was in good hands.  I feel so blessed that we have such amazing friends who are so fun to hang out with and who love our children!

Summer Book Club

We have some fun ladies in our neighborhood who have organized a summer book club for kids.  Each week has a theme.  There are chapter books, and pictures books to read.  There are also fun activities and treats that go with the theme.

The week I took these pictures was water week. The book was "Regarding the Fountain" which I didn't have time to read because we were leaving on vacation and had to pass it on, but Jack did read it and said it was great.

All my kids in the background on the tramp.

Miss M our sweet little neighbor posing for a picture.  She is Griffin's age and my kids just love her.

We have only made it to 2 of the 4 club meetings so far because we have been out of town, busy, or I have just been too exhausted, but we have plenty more coming up and the kids can't wait.

Highland Splash Pad

The Highland Splash Pad is just a couple minutes from our house and is such a quick and easy activity to do when the kids seem bored around the house.

This particular trip was kind of a bust because some clouds came rolling in and it was overcast and windy.  Also, the fountain part of the splash pad wasn't working.  But, the kids still managed to enjoy themselves and we stopped for ice cream on the way home, which is always a hit.

Visit With Henry

Last week the kids and I went on an adventure with some friends down to St. George (lots of pictures of that coming soon).  On our way back we stopped to visit and spend the night with Josh and Jess.

In the first picture, Henry is really sad because his Mom and Dad left to go to a class and he had to stay with us.  Cam thought a hug might help (it didn't).

Lila thought holding him in her lap might help...it didn't.  That poor boy just wanted his Mom!  Luckily it was bed time and he went to sleep and forgot all about the injustice of it all :)

Cam became a pro at packing and unpacking on our trip, so by the time we got to Josh and Jess's house, he just started unloading all the big stuff by himself.

Henry's house had so many toys.  The kids loved it.  The also loved playing Josh's game cube for hours on end!

When it was time for us to go, Henry climbed right up in the carseat.  I think he wanted to go with all the kids.

We had a great visit (although too short) with Uncle Josh Aunt Jess, and Henry.  They are so much fun and my kids were so happy to see them.  I heard Henry laid on the floor and cried when we left.  Yep, we are that awesome!

Thanks J & J.  Can't wait until we come down again.

4th of July

We had our annual neighborhood 4th of July celebration on Thursday. All the kids were really looking forward to it because it is always such a blast.  This was our 5th one.  Sunny was missing because she got to go with Mimi to the Stadium of Fire to see Carly Rae Jepsen and Kelly Clarkson.

We started with a bike parade.  The kids decorated their bikes and rode around the block a few times.  Yes, I know we have a freakish number of kids on our street!

That is Griffin right in the middle with the pink and blue helmet..

Next up was water balloon launcher.  Griffin loved it!

Watermelon eating contest for all!

It was a night of games, fun, music, friends, and fireworks!

Swimming at the Lehi Pool

Yesterday we went swimming at the old Lehi pool with my parents.  I think Mom got more pictures, but this is all I have.  We had a blast and then went out for a fun lunch after we were done.

Night At The Pond

We have had an amazing summer so far.  It has been packed with fun activities.  I seriously can't remember when I have been this busy, or had this much fun.

Today I am stuck on the couch because I have a pinched nerve in my back, so I am attempting to use my free time to catch up on blogging.  I have tons of pictures on my phone, but usually that is where they stay.

The other night after Ryan got home from work, we headed over to the little pond near my parents house.  They decided to meet us and we all hung out for a couple hours.  It was really fun.

Mom decided to stick Jack in the kayak (I think it was his first time) and he was enjoying it for a bit.  The only problem was the strong wind that caught him and send him towards the open lake and rocks.  He was completely freaked out (it wasn't a big deal.  The lake is small and he was in no danger).  He wasn't strong enough to paddle again the wind, but he was able to hold himself in place long enough for Ryan to swim over and pull the kayak back to shore.
