I know most of you that read this blog would probably like to see more of my family and read less of me, but I promise I will put my kids on here very soon. Anyway, for the last few years I have been playing on a softball team in the fall. Softball isn't the most active sport around, but it is at least a little exercise. I just have a little confusion about what goes on at and around a softball game. Even though I choose not to smoke for many reasons, I am not opposed to those who choose to smoke. Tonight I had a softball game. For some time now I have noticed the amount of players who are smoking in the dugouts, and all around the fields. What I don't understand is when they choose to do it. Immediately following the game as we were walking to congratulate the other team a few of them had already picked up their smokes, and began puffing away while shaking our hands. Can't they at least wait until they get off the field!!! Softball may just be the classiest sport ever. This is almost comparable to Nascar, (sorry if their are any Nascar fans out there). I also have seen the whole opposing team partying before the game in the parking lot. Wouldn't that be something to do after the game? Maybe I am just missing something. Smoking and drinking before and during a game would probably increase my performance level!! I even did a little research about this topic and found that many states have had to ban smoking and drinking at softball diamonds across the United States because of how much of a problem it has become with the players involved. Hopefully Provo City will at least ban smoking while you are batting.

I agree, it's time to ban smoking in many places. They are talking about banning it on college campuses up here in Salt Lake, I hope they do. I compare it to me walking around campus swinging my arms wildly... I am free to do it until my arm swinging injures someone else, then I can't do it anymore. I'm fine with people smoking, but as soon as their smoke hits my lungs, it does irreversible damage against my will. That shouldn't happen. And at a softball game where there are families around, it should definitely be banned.
I HATE it when I have to breath smoke just because someone else chooses to smoke. Just ask Cole, I get so mad! The worst is when you are driving and someone in the car in front of you is smoking. There is no way to get away from it. (I'm especially sensitive to the subject right now because I'm preggo!)
Brad I'm waiting anxiously for you to start leading by example... I can picture it now.
