Family Home Evening -- Week 9

This is how adorable little Griffin looked during FHE last night. He has such kissy cheeks.

Ryan, I know you won't like yourself in this one, but I liked the look on Griffin's face. Look how chubby he is!

Lila and Griffin were snuggling on the couch. They are so sweet and love each other so much. The problem is that Griffin is only a few pounds smaller than Lila, and she really can't hold him anymore.

This week most of us are on the mend. Poor Jax would be the main exception though. He is feeling pretty yucky and has been having problems with coughing and with his ears. Sunny still has a yucky cough, Lila still has a runny nose, and Griffin is still coughing and has a runny nose. At this point I think my kids will never all be healthy again. But I'm hopeful that some warm weather might help the situation a little bit. Regardless, they are better than last week, and I'm grateful for that.

On to FHE. This week we talked about Reverence. This was very easy for them and they knew all about it. Sunny demonstrated how to NOT be reverent and then Jax showed us the correct way. Lila provided a first hand look at what NOT to do during the prayer (laughing and jumping) and the kids got a kick out of trying to correct her.

For our activity we sang some of the kids favorite primary songs while they took turn using stop and go signs. It was pretty funny and the kids loved it.

I'm glad we are actually having FHE, but I am feeling a little discouraged with the quality. I'm trying to cut myself some slack while we are not feeling well, but I really want to do better. Any ideas for some fun activities?

Your FHE's are AWESOME! You do not need to feel discouraged by the quality because I'm pretty sure you're the poster child for exemplary FHE's! Especially considering 4 kids and their ages!! You're certainly an inspiration to me!

Have Sunny and Jackson teach it sometimes. They're old enough to do it with a little help from you. Emma loves to teach and enjoys making visual aids for her lesson. I'm sure your kids would too!
