Softball and Smoking

I know most of you that read this blog would probably like to see more of my family and read less of me, but I promise I will put my kids on here very soon. Anyway, for the last few years I have been playing on a softball team in the fall. Softball isn't the most active sport around, but it is at least a little exercise. I just have a little confusion about what goes on at and around a softball game. Even though I choose not to smoke for many reasons, I am not opposed to those who choose to smoke. Tonight I had a softball game. For some time now I have noticed the amount of players who are smoking in the dugouts, and all around the fields. What I don't understand is when they choose to do it. Immediately following the game as we were walking to congratulate the other team a few of them had already picked up their smokes, and began puffing away while shaking our hands. Can't they at least wait until they get off the field!!! Softball may just be the classiest sport ever. This is almost comparable to Nascar, (sorry if their are any Nascar fans out there). I also have seen the whole opposing team partying before the game in the parking lot. Wouldn't that be something to do after the game? Maybe I am just missing something. Smoking and drinking before and during a game would probably increase my performance level!! I even did a little research about this topic and found that many states have had to ban smoking and drinking at softball diamonds across the United States because of how much of a problem it has become with the players involved. Hopefully Provo City will at least ban smoking while you are batting.

Artist of the Week

Starting with this post I will post my "artist of the week" or maybe month, depending when I get to it. I always enjoy finding someone new and interesting to listen to. My first artist of the week is Ray Lamontagne. I randomly stumbled upon his music one night online, and it is right up my allley. Take a look at his videos. The top and bottom versions are the best quality. Hope you enjoy and check out more of his music. Feel free to comment about the music.

A great book

Recently I started my last semester of college, (unless something terrible goes wrong). In order to fulfill my requirements I needed an elective, so I chose something I thought may be interesting. I registered for the class 7 habits of highly effective people. For some time now I had heard about Steven Covey and this book, but I never thought to read or look into it more. Well, I am a few weeks into the class and book and have nothing but good to say about it. I have never been a book worm, but this book has been very helpful. If anyone is looking for a good read pick this up. It is full of great stuff for self improvement in business, family, and many other aspects of your life. I have never been a strong advocate for a book, but encourage those looking for something like this to give it a read.

Jackson and Sunny

I decided it was time to get to know the kids some from my point of view. Jackson is a little trooper with an amazing amount of stamina. I am amazed at how he can go all day without a nap and still want to stay up with me when it is late at night. He really enjoys watching and playing powers rangers and ninja turtles. Jackson always wants me to grab one of his ten swords and take him on in a duel.

Now about Sunny. It is amazing to me the difference between two of your own children. Sunny and Jackson get along very well, but are so much different. It may be because I call her princess a little too much. She is very sweet, but is also a bit of a drama queen. Sunny loves to watch disney princess movies, and loves to dress up in every piece of clothing that she owns. She loves singing and dancing. I have tried to outdance both kids, but Jackson really has some killer moves when he gets on a roll.

Happy Birthday Sunny!

Her birthday was actually a couple of weeks ago, but we just got her birthday pictures done! We thought they turned out pretty well (and so did she). Her favorite present was a princess bike her grandparents gave her. She's trying to ride it, but hasn't quite got the whole thing down yet. She also really liked the lip gloss her little friends gave her, and her new barbie and barbie clothes that her Nana gave her.

We Finally Have a Blog!

Well, we gave into the pressure and decided to join the world of blogging (Thanks Cole!). I'll try to keep everyone up on all the latest happening of the Blair family, and I'm sure Ryan will have plenty to say about Cougar football.
