It's Official!!

As of December 13, 2007, Ryan is an official graduate with a degree in Behavioral Science w/a psychology emphasis!

We just got the diploma in the mail today. I am so excited and so proud of Ryan. He started going to school when Sunny turned one in August of 2005. He has gone year-round since then and it has really been a struggle for our family. We are so thankful for all the help that has been given to us throughout the past 2 1/2 years. I can't believe it's finally here!!

This drives me NUTS!!!

I cannot stand when people send their sick kids to preschool, nursery, primary, family dinners, my house, etc. I'm sure you get the point. What is wrong with people. How about when your kid is sick you stay home and don't go spreading their germs to everyone you know. This isn't aimed at anyone in particular, but I just wish people would think before taking their kids out sick.

Here's the thing.... To most kids a cold is no big deal. They might have a cough or a runny nose for a few days and then they get over it. That's how it is if Sunny gets sick. Jackson is a different story. I don't think people realize that not every kids can just "get over it". Poor little Jackson has asthma. When he gets a cold it is a huge deal for us. Since Septmeber I think we have been to the doctors office probably 15 times. I try to give him a couple weeks to get over a cold, but it never fails that I have to take him in for steroid shots and a course of antibiotics. In the meantime he is missing preschool, not sleeping, coughing up a lung, and feeling misearable in general.

Our latest round of sickness started the last week of November. He came down with a cold. The next week was when the whole "toothpick incident" happened and we went to the doctor 4 times in a week and a half. After that was over his cold was getting worse and worse and he couldn't breathe well. I waited till after Christmas to take him to the doctor. He needed steriod shots (again) and antibiotics. Unfortunately, the meds didn't work and he had to take a second round of more powerful antibiotics. He is finally well now, but everywhere I turn there are sick kids hacking on him. Seriously people.

Just so you know, everyday Jax takes his inhaler twice a day, singular once, and has an albuteral inhaler for emergencies (which only happen when he has a stupid cold). Since November he's had all that plus the steriod shots and 20 days of antibiotics. All for a cold. This is so crazy to me and frustrating to deal with I wish people could understand what they were doing to Jax when they send their sick kids around him. I also wish they understood what it does to me. I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant on bedrest for Heaven's sake. Do you really think I want to pack up both my kids, drive through the snow, and sit at the Doctors office full of more sick kids? Plus, it gets so dang expensive. If you don't want to pay my medical bills quit getting my kid sick.

I know this is getting long, but I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO annoyed at people right now. I really don't want to be a bitch to people and tell them to get their kid away from me and out of my house when they're sick, but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to be for the sake of my kid. So, please, don't send your kids out sick. It really is dangerous to some kids and a huge deal. Teach your kids to wash their hands, and how to cough in their arm instead of all over my kids toys. PLEASE!!

Update on Me (Good News!!)

Well, after my appointment yesterday, my Doctor was even more concerned. My blood pressure was still a bit high, but the newest discovery is that my belly was measuring at 24 to 25 weeks instead of 28 1/2. I measured a couple weeks small with Jax and all was fine, but I've never been this far behind before. My doctor was worried that my blood pressure might be causing the placenta to deteriorate (sp) to quickly and that the baby wasn't growing properly. He scheduled me for an ultrasound at a different office for this morning. It turns out, the ultrsound was done by the same friend who did my 3D one a couple months ago. So, here are the newest pictures...

As it turns out, I just hide babies really well. Fitting into my itty-bitty belly is a little girl who is measuring 4 days ahead of her due date and already weighing in at 3 pounds. No wonder my ribs are hurting so bad. After we finished with all the medical stuff it was time to look at Lila in 3D. As soon as we tried to do the 3D pictures, Lila turned to face my back and we couldn't get her to turn back around. I was disapointed b/c I wanted to see her little face, but now I just get to go back again for another look in another week or so, and hopefully she'll be a little more cooperative.

After the ultasound I headed over to my doctor (yet again). He said things are looking better and for now I will just start going to see him every 2 weeks instead of 4 so we can keep a closer eye on my blood pressure. As long as it stays at a decent number, little Lila Cate should do just fine. This is very much like what happened with Jax. My blood pressure rose at 28 weeks and he wasn't delievered until 35 weeks and 5 days, so hopefully we'll get that far or even further with this one.

p.s. Yes, I asked if she was still a girl, and she most definitely is!!!!

My Trip to Labor and Delivery

I figured all those far away needed an update on what's going on with me and the baby, and how I'm doing. As is normal for me, this pregnancy has been pretty difficult. Last week I started feeling even worse than normal, and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I was thinking maybe my kidneys weren't working properly so I went in to the Dr. to get it checked. When I got there the first thing they did was check my blood pressure. It happened to be 160/112, so I earned an immediate trip to L&D. Once there, my pressure went down some, but it was never as good as it should be.

My doctor is concerned about preeclampsia, which I had with Jackson. When I got to the hospital, they hooked me up to the monitors and did lots of bloodwork. All my lab work looked okay, and Lila looked great, but they noticed I was have pretty consistent contractions. This was NOT news to me, I've been telling them I was contracting for the last 14 weeks, but I guess now they believe me. After a couple hours I was released, and now I'm officially on bedrest (so don't tell about the Chucky Cheese Party).

I go back to the doctor today and hopefully things will be looking better. Right now we're just concerned with keeping my blood pressure down so that we don't have to deliver little Lila too early. At this point, we're really hoping to get to the beginning of March, but maybe we'll get lucky and be able to wait until closer to her due date.

I'll update after my appointment this afternoon and see if I can't get Jackson to take a picture of me so yall can see the belly!

Our Chucky Cheese Party

First, I'll apologize in advance for the lack of pictures. Our memory card is full, and we forgot to take the camera with us, so this will have to do. Last night Ryan's work had a party at Chucky Cheese. The kids were so excited they could hardly stand it. It was so hard for them to sit still and eat b/c all they wanted to do was play. They loved everything, but what surprised me the most was what turned out to be their very favorite thing of all. It was Chucky himself. He came out and danced around and they thought it was the best thing ever. They went right to the front and started dancing. They both said it was the best night ever.

On a side note, Jackson woke up throwing up at 5 this morning. Poor kid, the first thing he said to me this morning was ,"Man, I'm so glad I got sick now and not last night when I was at Chucky Cheese." Not necessarily what I was thinking, but quite cute from his perspective.

Christmas Morning 2007

So, this is my first time making a slide show,I hope it works. After going through all the pictures from Christmas morning, I realized we did a horrible job taking pictures. Just picture that the kids looked 10 times cuter than they do in all of these. I think I was too busy unwrapping dolls and action figures to really worry about pictures.

The kids had a great Christmas, it was the first time that they both really understood what was going on. They were so happy and so sweet. They loved every single toy they got. Although, I think the singing Belle from Mok wins the overall prize!

p.s. The last picture is Sunny holding her favorite cousin Anna. She is totally baby crazy and can't wait for her own little sister to get here.
