Sunny's New Hair Cut

A week and a half ago, Ryan and I were downstairs watching t.v. Jackson came running down with a pair of scissors in his hand. He said, "You gotta see what she did!!!" Well, she cut her own hair. Her long beautiful blonde hair that I've been growing out forever. We had flat-ironed it for church that day and it was so pretty. She completely chopped the whole front part and transformed her long hair into a mullet. Yes, a mullet. I asked why she did it and she said, "I wanted my hair to be brown, not blonde." When I told her it was still blonde she said, "Well, then put it back on." Oh how I wished I could. I really wanted to cry about it, but all I could do was laugh. We had to live with the mullet for awhile b/c Sunny got sick, so finally today we were able to get her hair cut and fixed. It's still a little short on one side, but we think it looks great. She looks like such a big girl. Hopefully she learned her lessons and will NEVER try this again. You can't tell how bad it is, but I had to pull the front part up to keep it out of her eyes.
The day she did it, still you can't see how bad it really was.
Showing off her new haircut.
Big cheesy smile, but oh so cute!

Preschool trip to Pumpkinland

Jackson's preschool class went on a fieldtrip to pumpkinland in the beginning of October. They had such a great time. Jackson is the 4th from the left in the camo jacket.
I had to snap this from behind b/c I didn't want them to move. This is Jax with his "girlfriend of the week" Kamrie. These two were partners and held hands the entire time. She is an adorable little girl, but unfortunately he has already moved on to his newest crush, Abby.
Just doing a cool pose for the camera!
Sunny loved going on the field trip with the big kids (although she is practically a big kid herself now). Last year she was too afraid to climb on top of this big green thing, she was so proud she could do it this year.
Obviously the sun was in his eyes (bad job mom!), but I love this picture.

The cell phone dilemma

Our current cell phone contract is coming to an end. We have been with at&t or cingular or at&t or whatever they have decided they want to be now, since we have been married. The service has been fine so far. Last week I decided to start looking at upgrading our phones, considering ours have been getting a little old now. After doing some research I have found that unless you want a blackberry or smartphone, the choices for a decent phone are pretty sad. The only phone I would even want from them is an iphone, but don't want to fork out $400 right now. Their low quality phones seem like a rip off, and the more expensive flip phones just don't seem nice at all. The selection is also very slim to choose from. I have looked into some of the other carriers but just thought I'd ask if anyone has any good info about other companies or good phones at fair prices. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks, Ryan

Look what the kids are getting...

Lately the kids have been asking for a new trampoline. We thought about it for awhile and decided they were still too young and we should wait a few more years. This is what we decided to get them instead...

It's a new baby!!

Ninja or Child?

Last weekend Jackson got a new ninja toy set that included this head cloth. We couldn't help but think it looked like a little too familiar to what you see terrorists on the news wearing. Sunny doesn't look so sweet and innocent with it on. Since it was a cold rainy day, we stayed inside and the kids made daddy put the ninja mask on. Jackson likes to wear his Alabama football helmet. He turns it backwards and pretends it is a power ranger helmet. His dad will probably get him a BYU football helmet very soon, so he doesn't have to pretend he likes Alabama football.

They grow up fast

The years pass so fast when you have kids. Everyday is an adventure. We look at the kids and wonder how the years passed by. We wouldn't change anything, except for some of the stress.

Softball and Smoking

I know most of you that read this blog would probably like to see more of my family and read less of me, but I promise I will put my kids on here very soon. Anyway, for the last few years I have been playing on a softball team in the fall. Softball isn't the most active sport around, but it is at least a little exercise. I just have a little confusion about what goes on at and around a softball game. Even though I choose not to smoke for many reasons, I am not opposed to those who choose to smoke. Tonight I had a softball game. For some time now I have noticed the amount of players who are smoking in the dugouts, and all around the fields. What I don't understand is when they choose to do it. Immediately following the game as we were walking to congratulate the other team a few of them had already picked up their smokes, and began puffing away while shaking our hands. Can't they at least wait until they get off the field!!! Softball may just be the classiest sport ever. This is almost comparable to Nascar, (sorry if their are any Nascar fans out there). I also have seen the whole opposing team partying before the game in the parking lot. Wouldn't that be something to do after the game? Maybe I am just missing something. Smoking and drinking before and during a game would probably increase my performance level!! I even did a little research about this topic and found that many states have had to ban smoking and drinking at softball diamonds across the United States because of how much of a problem it has become with the players involved. Hopefully Provo City will at least ban smoking while you are batting.
